The 2020 CIMAC UK NMA combined AGM and Members’ Day was held on 25 November. We believe that the excellent attendance (36) compared to last year (20) was driven by the decision to conduct the meeting virtually, in light of the current pandemic. Proceedings began with an overview by the UK chairman and updates on our national finances and website. Peter Muller-Baum, of Central CIMAC, followed with an excellent presentation on the subject of current activities and strategy for the future. Subsequent presenters covered a broad range of topics relevant to the marine industry, including the path to zero emissions and the use of ammonia as a fuel. The very positive comments we received as a result of this event suggest that any future physical meetings should also be broadcast on-line to maximise attendance.
